Toyota Safety Sense

?If you’re shopping for a new Toyota, you may notice that many models come standard with Toyota Safety Sense-P (TSS-P). This package is comprised of several active safety features, each of which offer another layer of protection for you and your family on the road.

Automatic High Beams

Determining when to use your high beams can be tricky, but with this feature, you’ll never have to think about it! A camera located in your vehicle’s windshield detects when it’s dark outside and watches for headlights and taillights of other vehicles, adjusting the headlights to the appropriate setting as necessary.

Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

Building off the capabilities of standard cruise control, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control can adjust your speed to help you maintain a preset distance from other vehicles on the road. Utilizing a comprehensive camera and radar system, this feature monitors the speed and distance of the vehicle in front of you, adjusting your vehicle’s speed as needed.

Lane Departure Alert

New Toyota models like the 2018 Camry and 2018 Sienna are equipped with a system that can read road markings and notify you when your vehicle drifts over the lane. Not only can this help prevent you from veering into oncoming traffic, but the audible alert will get your attention back on the road where it belongs.

Pre-Collision System With Pedestrian Detection

One of the most highly revered features in TSS-P is the Pre-Collision System, which can significantly reduce the impact of a frontal collision and, in some instances, prevent a collision from occurring altogether. Using both camera and radar technology, the system can warn drivers of an impending collision with another vehicle or a pedestrian, and even apply the brakes if you don’t respond in time.
