2018 Toyota Camry in Houston

The best-selling car in America is entering its eighth generation with a bang! Staying true to its decades-old reputation for reliability and high-quality that buyers love, the 2018 Toyota Camry adds elements like hot styling, cutting-edge technology and world-class driving dynamics to its legacy.

“In order to create something that stirs people’s soul, we’ve laid out the concept of a new sedan that provides fun and excitement behind the wheel,” said Masato Katsumata, the Chief Engineer of the new Camry. “In developing the next-generation Toyota Camry, we were able to start with a clean slate, which allowed us to create a true driver’s car.”

Striking New Look

The 2018 Camry is an evolution of Toyota New Global Architecture, which means that the vehicle’s overall design strategy is a bit different from its predecessor. It’s lower, wider and more commanding on the road, with an aerodynamic body design that makes it look less like a commuter car and more like a high-powered sports sedan. Additional modifications, including its expressive body lines, redesigned headlights, lower roofline and new two-piece grille, give it the fierce edge that many shoppers are looking for.

Futuristic Cabin Design

The sporty concept continues inside the Camry’s interior. The dashboard is more visually appealing than ever, featuring sweeping lines and angled controls that further empower the driver. The colors used in designing the cabin are a mix of diverse tones and hues, which also makes it more pleasing to look at. Additionally, comfort emphasized throughout, with soft-touch materials, cushy seating and commodious cabin space.

Adding to the cockpit-inspired design is a suite of new in-cabin technology, including new Entune 3.0 Multimedia and an updated Human Machine Interface (HMI). This interface includes the HVAC control panel, the multi-information screen, the 8-inch touchscreen and the available head-up display. Seamless and intuitive, the HMI strengthens the driver-car relationship while also minimizing distraction.

?Smart Safety

Toyota Safety Sense P is now standard across all Camry models, making the sedan even safer for everyone on the road. Automatic High Beams, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection are all included in this safety package.

Peak Performance and MPG

The Camry redesign ushers in three new powertrain options: a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, a 3.5-liter V6 and a next-generation Toyota Hybrid System. The specs have not yet been released, but according to the automaker, the goal of these engines was to blend high power and torque with high efficiency, going above and beyond to meet consumer values. The gas-only options come paired to a brand-new 8-speed automatic transmission, while the hybrid features a six-speed sequential shifter.

Those who test drive the new Camry in Houston will also feel a noticeable difference in ride quality. With a new double wishbone rear suspension system, the sedan offers superior handling and responsiveness on the road, putting it “on par with premium luxury vehicles” according Toyota.
