What's New for the 2026 Toyota bZ?
For 2026, Toyota has rebranded its electric compact SUV from the bZ4X to the bZ. This update reflects the numerous changes Toyota made for this year. Upgraded motors and battery packs provide increased horsepower and longer range than previous models. The 11-kW on-board charger allows for faster charging speeds, and the bZ now comes standard with an NACS (North American Charging Standard) port instead of the old CCS port to allow drivers access to thousands more public DC fast-charge stations. Toyota also made subtle styling changes, including a redesigned dashboard and front end.
What Are the 2026 bZ Trims & Features?
The 2026 bZ is available in the XLE and Limited editions. Both versions come with standard features like two-zone climate control with pollen and dust filter, heated front seats, a heated leather-trimmed steering wheel, a 7-inch digital dashboard display, a 14-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia display, and dual front Qi wireless chargers. The Limited edition includes numerous upgrades, such as front radiant foot-and-leg heaters, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a digital rearview mirror with HomeLink. With the Limited edition, you can also choose to upgrade to a 9-speaker JBL Premium Audio system, which includes both an amplifier and subwoofer.

How Much Horsepower Does the 2026 bZ Have?
Both the XLE and Limited models are available in either a front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configuration. The FWD models are powered by a single electric motor, while the AWD editions have dual front-and rear electric motors. The standard front-wheel drive XLE has a 168-horsepower motor, while the FWD Limited and XLE Plus models achieve 221 horsepower. The dual-motor AWD models are more powerful, delivering 338 horsepower.
All models are rated to achieve a range between 236 and 314 miles per charge. The base front-wheel-drive XLE has the shortest range, while the front-wheel-drive XLE Plus has the longest range.
What Safety Features Does the 2026 bZ Include?
The 2026 bZ comes with most of the standard safety and driver-assistance features that people have come to expect from a Toyota. This includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with lane-keep assist, and the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 Pre-Collision System.
