2021 Toyota Highlander

What's New For the 2021 Toyota Highlander?

The Toyota Highlander returns with the same trim lineup and mostly the same features offered for each trim in 2020. However, the Highlander also gets a new trim in the family for 2021 called the XSE. The Highlander's new trim level adds some additional bonuses to the interior, and its exterior has a slightly different design that sets it apart from the others in the pack. With the latest trim addition, you now have six trims to choose from instead of five. The XSE trim level falls in the middle of the Highlander's lineup in 2021. While the Highlander gets an extra trim this year, the 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid does not see many differences from last year's model. The same trims with the same features carry over into 2021 for the Highlander.

2021 Highlander Has Varied Trim Levels & Countless Features

The first trim on the Toyota Highlander is the L, followed by the LE. In the Highlander Hybrid, the first trim is called the LE. The Highlander's base model includes elements from the first two trims of the Highlander combined. The L and Hybrid LE contain an eight-inch touchscreen interface with smartphone integration for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa. The base trim has five total USB charging ports. It also has a push-button ignition and a Smart Key entry system. The LE trim on the Highlander gets LED fog lights, more safety technology, and a height-adjustable power liftgate.

The XLE on the traditional Highlander offers the option for seating seven or eight people. It also gets heated front seats and a moonroof. The Hybrid XLE adds those amenities plus a wireless phone charger. Upgraded 20-inch wheels come with the all-new XSE trim, along with leather seats and heated front-row seats. The Limited Highlander and Hybrid get climate-controlled seats, a JBL sound system, and a hands-free liftgate. The Platinum has a 12.3-inch infotainment system and a panoramic moonroof.
