What's New for the 2022 Toyota Highlander?

The new model now has a Hybrid Bronze Edition to be part of what's available. There are lots of bronze details and extra options for many of the trims.

2022 Highlander Trims and Features

Trims for the Highlander start at the L. This is the most basic version. It has an all-wheel-drive available as an option. You get the 18-inch alloy wheels, the LED headlights, and options like power-heated side mirrors. There's also the Toyota Smart Key System option for remote door and lift gate control as well as the push-button starter. You also get Tri-zone climate control and the standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay option.

The Highlander LE has the hybrid engine option. It builds off the L trim but adds options like the leather-trimmed steering wheel and rear-cross traffic alert.

The XLE trim adds heated seats to both front rows. You can get a power moon-roof at the top of the first row, which helps to add better airflow.

The XSE trim is focused on making the vehicle more sporty looking. It has 20-inch machine-faced alloy wheels with a black mesh grille and black accents. The trim does have the all-wheel-drive option as well.

The Bronze Edition Hybrid is a new option for this vehicle. It has bronze accents and wheels that aren't much like anything else from the model. It features rain-sensing wipers as well as a digital rearview mirror. This allows you to see a projected image of what's behind you, even if something is in the way.

The Toyota Highlander Limited has features like full leather upholstery, the JBL audio option with 11 speakers, a subwoofer with power, front seats with ventilation, and a hands-free powered liftgate.

Finally, You have the Platinum version, which includes everything in Limited and adaptive front LED headlights.

2022 Toyota Highlander Horsepower

The non-hybrid Toyota Highlander's powers a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 295 hp and 263 lb.-ft. of torque which works with the 8-speed auto transmission option.

Safety options for the 2022 Toyota Highlander include driver assistance features like adaptive cruise control, auto braking, lane-keeping assist, and more. Others include pedestrian detection and auto headlights.
