This collaboration between Toyota Motor North America and Cirba Solutions significantly expands the automaker’s battery recycling network for BEVs, PHEVs, and HEVs. With Cirba Solutions boasting a remarkable 95% recovery rate for extracting critical elements, this partnership not only reduces costs for Toyota but also propels it towards achieving a closed-loop system for battery recycling. Notably, Cirba Solutions received substantial funding from the U.S. Department of Energy to enhance its facility in Lancaster, Ohio. This upgraded facility will efficiently extract battery-grade materials from end-of-life batteries, reintroducing them into the supply chain for future EV use.
