The expanding electric vehicle sector is bringing drivers new breakthroughs in both vehicle tech and home charging hardware. To improve the ownership experience, Toyota and Lexus have launched a collaboration with Treehouse, a software-based operating system designed to simplify home charger installations for all hybrid and EV customers.

Federal incentives are available for new electric vehicle purchases—but not for long. Qualifying buyers may be eligible for up to $7,500 in tax savings through the Clean Vehicle Credit, which is set to expire on September 30, 2025, unless extended. A separate home EV charger tax credit is available through June 30, 2026.
 

EVgo Inc. has collaborated with Toyota to roll out new fast-charging stations in Baldwin Park and Sacramento, California. These additions are part of Toyota'’'s "Empact" initiative, which focuses on expanding EV charging access in communities that need it most. Each site features advanced 350kW chargers and is thoughtfully placed near everyday destinations such as grocery stores, dining spots, and retail centers. The stations are designed for affordability and can accommodate up to eight vehicles at a time.
 

This summer, Toyota announced its investment in the EV charging network IONNA to support the development of a high-powered charging infrastructure for battery electric vehicles across North America.
