2021 Toyota Tacoma Exterior

What's New For the 2021 Toyota Tacoma?

For the most part, the Toyota Tacoma is the same in 2021 as it was in 2020. This year, however, there are a few new trims of the Tacoma that you can choose in addition to the regular lineup. Now you can get a Nightshade Edition trim that comes with custom black exterior accents and a black interior, and you can also get a Trail Special Edition that has more off-road features than any other Tacoma trim. The 2021 Tacoma is also available with a few more packages that provide a greater assortment of add-on features. The Tacoma is produced in several bed configurations, and it also has multiple engines to give you maximum choices for performance and handling.

2021 Tacoma Has Abundant Features

The SR trim, which is the first Tacoma, carries over without significant changes in 2021. This Tacoma gets several notable features, including a durable composite bed that doesn't require a bedliner, a tie-down system, and heated, adjustable side mirrors. The first trim has 16-inch steel wheels, while the higher-end Tacoma trims upgrade to larger 17-inch and 18-inch wheels. The base Tacoma comes with a seven-inch infotainment display screen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also comes with smartphone pairing and a six-speaker stereo.

The SR5 has an eight-inch touchscreen, a longer wheelbase with a six-foot bed, and a crew cab design. Chrome exterior accents give the outside a more upscale appearance. The TRD Sport comes standard with a V6 engine. It gets a 10-way mobile driver's seat and an auto-dimming mirror. The TRD Sport gets some other technology, too, including standard wireless smartphone charging.

The TRD Off-Road has a chrome-accented rear bumper for a decorative finish. It also has custom black flares for the fenders, and it returns to 16-inch wheels. The mechanical system is specially designed for off-road handling and maneuvering. The top trim Limited, upgrades to larger 18-inch wheels and custom tires. It has the optional features for the previous trims as standard features. It also has low-profile tires and body-colored fender flares.

Both engines come standard with a six-speed automatic transmission for the rear-wheel drive versions, but the four-wheel drive Tacoma trims can be ordered with a six-speed manual, too.

Tacoma Safety at the Forefront

The Toyota Tacoma is packed with safety technology starting at the base level. At a minimum, you'll get advanced airbags, forward collision warning, lane departure alert, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams.
